DANCELAB 9 Choreography by dancers from the ballet ensemble

World premieres / JUNE 2018

The dynamic dancers from the ballet ensemble who work at the highest technical levels and are normally seen in pieces by Richard Wherlock or other guest choreographers now receive the opportunity for the ninth successive year to choreograph their own works and present them on stage. The intimacy of the Kleine Bühne lends the works by these young artists a very particular intensity.  The short, ten to fifteen minute pieces offer the audience an insight into the creative processes of our ensemble while offering the young dancers a platform on which they can demonstrate their creative ideas. As well as choreographing their first steps, designing the stage, lighting and costumes and considering music, dramaturgy and the casting of characters are all areas in which the dancers can gain valuable experience that will ease their path in entering a career as a professional choreographer.
